Volunteers
Together with our hardworking clergy and parish staff, Jubilee Parish operates with the assistance of a large team of volunteers in many ministries including reading at Mass, serving at the Altar, planning liturgy, marshalling, preparing the church for Mass and many others.
The Archdiocese of Brisbane has implemented standards of conduct for voluntary church workers to maintain a safe and healthy ministry environment. All volunteers must register via the Archdiocese Welcome Portal (archbne.org/welcome). Depending on the ministry, volunteers may also be required to undertake online Safeguarding training, obtain a Police Check (for ministries involving adults-at-risk) and/or a Blue Card (for ministries involving children). These checks are a legal and moral requirement to ensure the vulnerable members of our community continue to remain and feel safe. A summary of volunteer roles and the related training and documentation requirements, as well as links to the training modules are provided below.
All training must be registered After completing the training, volunteers must submit a Confirmation of Completion form to register the training with their parish, ministry or community and the Archdiocese People & Culture (HR) Office. To register the training, complete and submit the Confirmation of Completion form online or download the hard copy form, sign and submit it to the Parish Office for verification and lodgement with the People & Culture Office. Both versions of the form can be found on the Safeguarding Training page of the Archdiocese website. Training that is not registered with the People & Culture Office will not be recognised for compliance and may leave the parish open to litigation. |
