MASTERPLAN
The parish has been working on its stewardship of its property for years. The Public Notification boards that are around the churches are part of this LONG process. Again, the community are able to submit their concerns with the development or show their support. Council will then review and consider which submissions are relevant and take into account when making a decision.
As you will see, Council site classification is broad. That is the classification system the Council has. We are not proposing bars, clubs and veterinary surgeries on the Sacred Heart site. That is simply the planning listing of the Council.
St Bernard’s Church Kennedy Terrace: In response to an information request from Brisbane City Council in December 2021, the Parish has removed the Old St Bernard’s Church precinct from the original development application and submitted a separate application for this site. This changed approach responds to issues raised by residents.
The overall project: The project team are now proceeding with the public notification process for the Masterplan and Old St Bernard’s application, which will enable the community to provide further comments on the proposed development applications. Broader details of the proposal and information on how to provide feedback can be found on the Brisbane City Council website at https://developmenti.brisbane.qld.gov.au/.
The development application numbers for the Masterplan and Old St Bernard’s application are A005810773 and A006026590 respectively.
