Assembly Overview
The NATSICC Assembly marks the culmination of the current NATSICC Council's term and provides an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics (and those working alongside us) to come together to celebrate faith and culture.
As we continue to move forwards in a world that has changed dramatically during the COVID pandemic, it has never been more important for Australia's First Peoples to once again meet Face to Face. The strength and fulfillment that meeting in person provides is a cornerstone to maintaining and strengthening networks whiting the world's oldest continuing culture.
We will come together at St Patrick's College - conveniently located on The Strand in Townsville to listen to speakers, experience interactive workshops and share our stories.
Presenters include:
The week will move at a steady pace to allow Elders to participate fully as well as provide a chance for exploration of Townsville and its surrounds. As is tradition, Wednesday will feature a day trip that showcases local culture and lands. Hosted by the Townsville Catholic Education office, delegates will enjoy the coastal walk that features local bush tucker and culminates in a sweeping view of Townsville itself.
We look forward to you joining us as we begin to rebuild relationships and rekindle friendships
