Parish Clergy


Fr Peter Brannelly grew up on the Southside of Brisbane and studied for the priesthood at Pius XII Provincial Seminary, Banyo, being ordained in 1989. After ordination Fr Peter worked in the Parishes of Daisy Hill, Sunnybank, Goodna and Grovely. In 1995 Fr Peter volunteered to work in the mission diocese of St John’s-Basseterre (West Indies) and for the next 11 years ministered to the people on the island of Tortola. On his return to the Archdiocese in 2006 Fr Brannelly worked briefly at Burleigh Heads before being appointed the foundation parish priest of the Jubilee Catholic Parish in 2006.

Fr Anthony Girvan was born in 1966 and ordained in 2002 at the Cathedral of St Stephen in Brisbane. In the same year he was appointed to Surfers Paradise Parish for 4 years as Associate Pastor before being appointed Parish Priest of St Patrick’s Church Beenleigh and then in 2014 St Bernardine’s Parish, Regents Park. Fr Girvan was appointed Prison Chaplain for the Archdiocese by Archbishop Coleridge in 2016 and assists with our weekend masses here at Jubilee.

Rev. Peter Devenish-Meares was ordained in 2006 after 25 years in banking and in the corporate world where he also obtained postgraduate finance, counselling and heritage degrees. He led large customer service and care teams. During his career Peter has sat on hospital, corporate and education boards, helped found Rosies and is a member of the Society of St Vincent de Paul. His main ministry is to young families in Jubilee parish. Peter works full time as State Chaplain at Mission Australia and is an army padre. Peter is doing applied, doctoral research in workplace pastoral care and mid-life. Deacon Peter Devenish Meares Jubilee
